  • We invest a great deal of time and energy in training our people to become excellent lawyers and also our leaders of tomorrow to take over the helm of management.   
Practical / hands-on experience
  • You will be guided but do expect to be thrown into the deep to fend for yourself and quickly find your feet. You have to learn to be self motivated and responsible for the tasks entrusted to you.
  • Our partners and senior lawyers are always there to help and guide you along.
  • We have an open-door policy which we are very proud of.
Buddy system
  • An associate will be assigned to you as your “buddy”
  • Your buddy will guide you with your work and overall learning experience
Seminars, talks, masterclasses
  • Supplement the practical hands-on experience and personal one-to-one engagement with pupil master
  • Includes Practice Trainee Continuing Legal Education Programme (talks to ensure that Practice Trainees are exposed to all areas stipulated in the BLE checklist)
  • Practice Trainees are welcome to attend firm-wide or department-wide training
    • Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
    • Department specific training programmes like Litigation, Corporate, BFP Masterclasses
    • External courses and seminars e.g. The Law Society of Singapore

Rotation
We encourage Practice Trainees to take an responsibility for their training – rotation is available but not mandatory

Practice Trainees may opt to work in our major departments, Litigation, Corporate & Securities Laws, and Banking, Finance & Property; or our specialist departments, Intellectual Property & Technology (IP&T) and Tax & Trusts.

Pursuant to the Practice Training requirements as set out in Part III of the Practice Training Period rules, you will receive adequate training in matters specified by the Board of Legal Education, including matters relating to professional responsibility, etiquette and conduct. You will be exposed to two or more of the above mentioned practice areas.

You may rotate among the various departments, either:
A)
For 6 months Training Contract
    -
2 3-month stints in 2 of the departments; or
    -
3 2-month stints in 3  of the departments

B) For 12 months Training Contract
     - 2 6-month stints in 2 of the departments; or
     -
3 4-month stints in 3 of the departments

3. Availability of Training Contract places
We have a total of 20 places for 2011 in the following departments:

 4. Honorarium
You will be paid an honorarium of S$2,000.00 per month during your training contract. 
In addition, you will be given S$1,000 per month whilst attending Part B of the Bar Examination. 

Subject to your retention, we will reimburse the Part B Bar Examination fees and the e-filing fees relating to your application for admission as an advocate and solicitor.
