The Shipping Department handles both contentious and non-contentious shipping and admiralty matters and ship financing. The wide array of maritime cases including claims arising out of loss of or damage to cargo, charterparty disputes, bunkering contracts, ship sale and purchase agreements, shipboard personal injuries and accidents, ship construction and repair, freight forwarding and logistics. We also handle claims arising from the carriage of goods by road and by air. We act for ship owners, ship managers and operators, ships’ agents, P&I Clubs, underwriters, shipyards and ship repairers, financial institutions involved in ship financing and those involved in the maritime industry and international sale of goods.

 Our experience includes:

• Acting in numerous commercial recovery cases, many involving injunctive remedies.
• Acting in numerous air carriage, freight forwarding and logistics disputes.
• Advising ship owners on the requirements of The Maritime & Port of Authority of Singapore, and preparing documents for registering a ship in Singapore.
• Acting for various local and overseas banks in their financing of both local and overseas shipping groups.
• Advising ship mortgagees and owners on the terms of various types of marine insurance and claims procedures.
